The MRC And Korea Development Institute (KDI) Launched The Second Joint Knowledge Sharing Program For 2020-2021 (February 2, 2021)

Phnom Penh: H.E. Mr. Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, led the Cambodian working group to participate in the 2nd Launching Seminar of the 2020/21 MRC-KDI Knowledge Sharing Program through Videoconference on the joint knowledge sharing program of MRC-KDI for 2020-2021 with participation of other member countries, representatives of Korea Development Institute and Mekong River Commission Secretariat.

The first MRC-KDI Knowledge Sharing Program was launched in 2017, providing actionable insights for the improvement of river basin planning and hydropower development and management that can nurture more socio-economic and environmental benefits.

The second Knowledge Sharing Program launched today is to enhance the MRC’s flood and drought monitoring and forecasting and management, and dissemination of information, including by exploring the experience for the development of seamless hydro-climate forecasting platform and virtual drought exercises for drought response, and effective approaches for flood forecasting using AI and Big Data for improved flood forecasting and warning..
