Kampong Cham: H.E Mr. So Sophort, Secretary ​General of ​Cambodia National ​Mekong ​Committee (CNMC), chaired a National Consultative Meeting  on National Forecasting Center Needs Assessment Findings and Plan for implementation with participation of representatives from relevant ministries and institutions, including Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, National Committee for Disaster Management, Tonle Sap Authority, MRC Secretariat and the CNMC General Secretariat.

The Meeting’s objectives were to (1) discussion on needs, requirement from MCs for NFCs enhancement and plan for implementation; (2) introduce method, methodology and workplan for medium- and long-range flood and drought forecasts/outlooks; and (3) enhance closer coordination between National implementing units from LAs and experts of RFDMC on flood and drought forecasting/guidance and operation.
