Regional Training on Satellite Observations and Tools for Reservoir Monitoring in the Mekong Region (August 09-11, 2022)

Bangkok: Mr. Meak Charvannary, Deputy Director of Information and Knowledge Management Dept. of CNMC, lead the Technical Working Group from MoWRAM, Ministry of Mine and Energy, and the CNMC General Secretariat to attend the Regional Training on Satellite Observations and Tools for Reservoir Monitoring in relation to Enhance Flood and Drought Management in the Mekong Region. The Training is organized and facilitate by the SERVIR Mekong program collaboration with the University of Washington and University of Houston with participation of representatives of the Member Countries’ technical experts, international Consultants from USAID, ADPC, SEI, and MRC Secretariat team.

The Training’s objectives are introduce key stakeholders to the RAT-Mekong and related topics including the satellite Observations and tools for reservoir Monitoring in relation to flood and drought management in the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB), modeling for simulation reservoir mekong inflow, area-elevation curve generation from DEM, reservoir storage change and SAR for reservoir monitoring respectively.
