Kampong Cham: H.E So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired National Inception Workshop on Water Accounting in Stung Prek Thnot River Basin in 2022-2023 with participation of representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, including MOWRAM, MAFF, MoE, MPWT, MME and the CNMC General Secretariat.

The Workshop’s objectives are (1) to promote understanding on project status and challenges among National LAs, Working Group and provincial departments; (2) to discuss and approve scope, approach and methodology, Water Accounting+ concept, design and tool on water use monitoring; (3) to enhance cooperation from LAs and provincial authorities and units in order to provide inputs to the pilot study; and (4) to discuss and approve data requirement and work plan for the study.
