Regional Working Session on MRC Application for GCF Accreditation (October 26, 2022)

Phnom Penh: The MRC Secretariat had organized the ​Regional Working Session on MRC Application for GCF Accreditation, presided over and chaired the discussion by Dr. Thim Ly, Chief Basin Planner, Planning Division, MRC Secretariat and participated by the EGPDs from the four member countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR., Thailand, and Viet Nam), relevant MRCS staffs, and Expert from GCF Secretariat. The EGPD from Cambodia leaded by His Excellency Mr. Kol Vathana, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and jointed by the relevant staff from CNMCS, and relevant officials from line agencies, including, MoE. MOWRAM, MAFF, and NCDM.

The Objectives of the Session are (1) Report to the Regional Working Session the results of the National Working Sessions on MRC Application for GCF Accreditation; (2) Provide clarification on the Proposal of MRC Application to be GCF Accreditation Entity; (3) Seek comment and advice from National Mekong Committees (NMCs), the GCF DNAs, and the GCF Secretariat on the MRC Accreditation Application; and (4) Discuss and get an Agreement on step forward.

The Meeting have considered, discussed, and provided input into the following key agenda items, namely (1) MRC preparation for its Application to be GCF Accredited Entity; (2) Key Finding and Recommendation of the MRC Secretariat Gap Assessment; (3) GCF Readiness Support Proposal for MRC; (4) Comment and Advice from GCF Secretariat; (5) Nomination Letter/ No-objection Letter from GCF NDAs (MoE for Cambodia); and (6) Updated Work Plan.
