National Consultation Meeting to Review the Final Draft of the Concept Note Design for Water Use Monitoring System (September 3, 2021)

Kampong Cham: H.E Te Navuth, Permanent Vice-Chairman of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired a National Consultation Meeting to review the final draft (3rd draft) of the concept note design for water use monitoring system for the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB) with participation of relevant line ministries and agencies, the CNMC General Secretariat; under technical facilitation by the MRCS-TD team via Video Conference from Vientiane, Lao PDR.

The Meeting’s objectives were to (1) present methodology, approach, data to be used, tools, work progress and key message of the concept note design, which was revised based on the comments and recommendations of the member countries; (2) to review the final draft of the concept note design for water use monitoring system at the National and Regional levels; (3) To improve a understanding of available resources and decisions aiming at promoting equality and sustainable water management in the LMB; and (4) to gather additional comments from relevant line ministries and agencies in order to finalize the design on the water use monitoring system before submitting it to the regional expert group meeting and the MRC Joint Committee meeting by the end of 2021 for endorsement.
