8th Training Workshop on the Use of the Decision Support System (DSS) in the 3S and 4P (January 24-27, 2022)

Kep: The Cambodia ​National Mekong ​Committee organized the ​8th training workshop on the use of the Decision Support System (DSS) in the 3S and 4P river basins for planning officers and Modelling Officers for hydrology and water resources under the Mekong Integrated Mineral Resources Management Project, Phase 3, and Component 2.

His Excellency Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary-General of the CNMC Secretariat and Manager of MIWRMP3 C2, led the training workshop with the participation of project implementation officers from the CNMC, Ministry. Water Resources and Meteorology and Provincial Departments of Water Resources and Meteorology of Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanak Kiri and Mondul Kiri and the Institute of Technology of Cambodia, as well as national and international experts of DHI Technical Advisors.

The training workshop aims to strengthen the understanding and practical skills of the officers, the specialized team (planning and modeling team), the ability to use the DSS to support the process of water resources management and planning in 3S and 4P basins.

The outcome of this 4-day workshop, participants gained knowledge, understanding and advanced skills in preparing, updating and editing development scenarios, as well as mastering the use of the DSS through modeling and planning in 3S and 4P as well as build a team in charge of the DSS unit to have the functions and responsibilities to support the management in decision making on investment plans, water resources development planning model and DSS tool.
