Consultation Workshop on Mechanisms for the Management of Transboundary Water Resources at the Community (April 07-08, 2022)

Kep: Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) ​organized a ​consultation ​workshop on mechanisms for the management of transboundary water resources and related resources at the community level for the region Manage flood C4 in Kandal province and C7 in Prey Veng province.

The workshop was chaired by H.E So Sophort, Secretary General of CNMC and consisted of participation from representatives of relevant ministries, relevant institutions, relevant departments, district and commune authorities farmers' communities water use and fisheries communities of Kandal and Prey Veng Provinces, National Project Implementation Team and National Experts.

The purpose of the workshop was to present and consult on:

1. Discuss transboundary issues occurring in C4 and C7 flood control areas and future trends

2. Demonstrate the mechanisms, structures, procedures and processes for the implementation of water resources management and transboundary related resources that have been implemented in the flood control areas C4 and C7.

3. Discuss and agree on mechanisms, procedures and processes for managing water resources and related transboundary resources more effectively.
