12th Regional Stakeholder Forum to Address Critical Climate Change and Development Challenges in the Mekong Basin (June 29, 2022)

Bangkok: H.E Kol Vathana, ​Deputy ​Secretary General of ​Cambodia ​National ​Mekong ​Committee, ​led the ​representatives of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of ​Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries , Ministry of Mines and Energy and Ministry of Environment), Advisor to CNMC and the CNMC General Secretariat, to attend the 12th Regional Stakeholder Forum to address critical climate change and development challenges in the Mekong Basin. The forum was chaired by Dr. Anoulak Kittikhoun, Chief Executive Officer of the MRC Secretariat, and was attended by delegates from member countries, NGOs, civil society, university and research institutes, private sectors, development partners and the MRC Secretariat team.

The Forum’s objectives are (1) to provide latest updates on the Mekong water resources development and important work the MRC is currently engaged in; and (2) to gather recommendations from various stakeholders for the enhancement of joint study, transboundary fisheries management, cascade dam information sharing and coordination and the MRC’s flood and drought services.
