National Consultation Meeting on the Bilateral Agreement Between Cambodia and Vietnam on Waterborne Transportation (October 25, 2022)

Siem Reap: H.E Mr Te Navuth, Permanent Vice chairman of CNMC and H.E Mr Mak Sideth, Director General of the General Department of Inland Waterway Transport and Ports of MPWT co-chaired a national consultation meeting on the bilateral agreement between Cambodia and Vietnam on waterborne transportation for Cambodia with officials from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Programme Officer from the Mekong River Commission (MRC) and officials from CNMC. The objectives of the meeting are to: (1) review the implementation of the Bilateral Agreement on navigation between Cambodia and Vietnam, as well as identify current issues and challenges on the implementation of this Agreement for Cambodia; and (2) update the project at the national level on water transport in Cambodia and discuss priority activities for the implementation of the bilateral  agreement on navigation between Cambodia and Vietnam....

National Inception Workshop on Water Accounting in Stung Prek Thnot River Basin in 2022-2023 (October 24, 2022)

Kampong Cham: H.E So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired National Inception Workshop on Water Accounting in Stung Prek Thnot River Basin in 2022-2023 with participation of representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, including MOWRAM, MAFF, MoE, MPWT, MME and the CNMC General Secretariat. The Workshop’s objectives are (1) to promote understanding on project status and challenges among National LAs, Working Group and provincial departments; (2) to discuss and approve scope, approach and methodology, Water Accounting+ concept, design and tool on water use monitoring; (3) to enhance cooperation from LAs and provincial authorities and units in order to provide inputs to the pilot study; and (4) to discuss and approve data requirement and work plan for the study....
