2nd National Consultation Meeting on the Preparation of the National Indicator Plan 2021-2025

Kampong Cham: HE Te Navuth, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired the 2nd National Consultation Meeting on the Preparation of the National Indicator Plan 2021-2025 (NIP 2021-2025) at Phnom Pros Hotel, Kampong Cham Province, with the participation of the Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General, officials from CNMC and with the participation of officials representing relevant ministries and institutions, including MOWRAM, MOE, MAFF, MME, MOP, MPWT, MLUC and TSA, a total of 25 participants.

The results of the meeting are as follows:

- The meeting discussed and suggested some of the projects available at the national level with funding about $ 13 million to be included in NIP 2021-2025

- Floods and Droughts are very important, but now the focus is on drought, so Cambodia should pay attention to this issue

- Meeting proposes to add existing projects to NIP 2021-2025, in particular CNMC projects include CNMC-NIS

- Groundwater is also very important for Cambodia, so this groundwater project should put into NIP 2021-2025

Next Step:

- The team will gather feedback to prepare for the first update of NIP 2021-2025 and then send to MRC

- Organize EGBP regional meeting related to NIP 2021-2025 on 23 June 2021

- Third National Consultation Meeting to be held in July 2021

- The document will be completed and approved in August 2021

- Disseminate and raise funds to support NIP implementation.
