National Technical Meeting on Expansion of Drought Indicators Monitoring Stations (June 25, 2021)

Kampong Cham: H.E So Sophot, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, chaired the National Technical Meeting on Expansion of Drought Indicators Monitoring Stations under the MRC Drought Management Strategy 2021-2025 with participation of representatives from relevant line ministries/agencies, provincial departments, expert of the MRC Secretariat and the CNMC General Secretariat

As a result, the Meeting: (1) are familiar with the process of monitoring the drought indicators for 2021-2022 as part of the Mekong River Commission Drought Management Strategy 2021-2025 (2) discussed the selected parameters and sites selection criteria in determining the location of stations for monitoring the drought situation, type of equipment to be used, responsible institutions/units and work plans;
According to the Meeting’s result, a field mission will be conducted to assess the current status of equipment operation and to fix the existing hydrological stations in Cambodia under the MRC drought activity as well as there will be a technical meeting to review the technical specification and to get approval of the implementation plan.
