3rd National Working Group Meeting and Training on Flood and Drought Management (June 30 and July 01, 2021)

Phnom Penh: H.E Mr. Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired the 3rd National Working Group Meeting and Training on Flood and Drought Management. In the Cambodia-Thailand border area with the participation of officials from relevant Ministries and institutions (MOWRAM, MAFF, MOP, MRD, TSA, MPWT, NCDM and MLMUPC), Officials from ICEM, GIZ, MRCS, national experts, international experts and Officials from CNMC, a total of 26 Persons (4 Females).

The purpose of the meeting and training are: (1) to discuss the budget and prepare additional comprehensive concept paper to apply for funding from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) for the phase III of the project; (2) to discuss the river basin atlas and potential areas at 9C and 9T  (3) to discuss work plans for the next quarter (4) Understanding of tools for flood and drought assessment and warning at basin scale and (5) How nature based solutions and hybrid measures contribute to flood and drought resilience.
