National Consultation Meeting on Community-Based Transboundary Water Resources and Flood Risk Management (January 26-27, 2022)

Siem Reap: The Cambodia National Mekong Committee organized national consultation meeting on Community-based transboundary water resources and flood risk management in the Border Areas of Cambodia and Vietnam outreach experience to the Border Areas of Cambodia and Lao PDR.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and institutions, relevant departments of Kandal and Prey Veng provinces, officials of the General Secretariat of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, National Project Implementation Working Group and National experts, a total of 36 peoples.

The purpose of the meeting is to present and consult on:

1. Results of the study to collect socio-economic data and development of various sectors

2. Results of the survey on fisheries data collection and management of local and transboundary fisheries resources

3. Water Resources Management and Transboundary Flood Risk at Community Level, Cambodia-Vietnam Border Area

4. Results of general monitoring and update of flood and damage

5. Results of general review and update of water resources and related resources

6. Road map of water resources management and cross-border related resources at the community level in flood management areas C4 and C7 and

7. Multifunctional infrastructure for sustainable water resources management and transboundary flood risk in flood management areas C4 and C7.
