Kampong Cham: H.E So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC); chaired a National Training Workshop on Data Collection, Discharge & Sediment Measurement and Operation and Maintenance of HYCOS Stations along the Mekong River and its main tributaries, with participation of technical staff from Department of Hydrology and River Works, Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology, stations’ observers, expert of the MRCS and the CNMC General Secretariat.

The Workshop’s objectives are 1. to provide knowledge and strengthen the capacity to observers and DHRW staff to understand the hydrological work on operation and management of the stations 2. to share the experiences and lesson learned from the observers and DHRW staffs; 3. to refresh the Standard Operation Procedure on Operation & Maintenance of the stations; and 4. to promote understanding of the method of measuring the water level, discharge and rating curve.
