2nd Interim Reporting Workshop of the MRC-KDI Knowledge Sharing Program 2020/21 (May 18, 2021)

Phnom Penh: H.E. Mr. Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Chheang Hong, Director of Information and Knowledge Management Department of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and representatives of relevant ministries attended the 2nd Interim Reporting Workshop of the MRC-KDI Knowledge Sharing Program 2020/21 through Video Conference with the chairmanship of KDI Senior Representative of the Korea Government and of Chief Executive Officer of the MRC Secretariat.

As a result, the Workshop presented the finding/results of research studies on 5 topics, including 1. Review of Korean experiences and the MRC Member Countries’ (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam); 2. Approaches, methodologies and suggestion for flood forecasting using AI and Big Data for improved flood forecasting and early warning; 3. Development of communication and feedback products of the MRC’s flood and drought forecasts; and 4. Suggestions for integrated flood and drought management strategy in the Mekong focusing on green technology initiatives and knowledge sharing platforms for mitigating flood and drought.
