Technical Meeting About the Implementation of A Pilot Project In Prek Thnot Catchment For 2021-2022 (June 14-15, 2021)

Phnom Penh: His Excellency So Sophort, Secretary General, Cambodian National Mekong Committee (CNMC) has chaired a technical meeting about the implementation of a Pilot Project in Prek Thnot Catchment for 2021 – 2022. This technical meeting was held with the participation from technical staffs from Department of Hydrology and River Work, Department of Meteorology, Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Representatives from MRCS and CNMC.

The purpose of the meeting are (1) to implement the pilot project focusing on the application of hydrological model and to define the study site and (2) to implement the work plan.

The meeting outcomes are as follows:

-  The Prek Thnot catchment is selected as Pilot Study Site;

-  The upper Prek Thnot catchment is used for the implementation of SWAT model (ArcSWAT), while the lower catchment is used for the implementation of ISIS Hydrodynamic Flood Model.

-  The KUBO software is selected for data collection.
