Meeting of the EGEM on the Mekong River Plastic Monitoring Programme (June 22, 2021)

Phnom Penh: H.E Long Saravuth Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee chaired and leaded the meeting of the EGEM on the Mekong River Plastic Monitoring Programme and was attended by Member Countries, observers from the UNEP Counter MEASURE Project Phase II and International Consultant. Cambodia working group comes from Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Public Work and Transport, Ministry of Environment, Fishery Administration, Tonle Sap Authority, Cambodia National Mekong Committee and National Expert.

The Objective of the meeting:

1.  Discuss and obtain feedback on the first draft of Detailed Methodology for River Plastic Monitoring Programme (RPM)

2.  Discuss and obtain feedback and guidance for the finalization of the Regional Report on the Status and Trends of Plastic Waste Pollution in the LMB, and 

3.  Update and obtain agreement on timeline and deadline for finalization of RPM.
