Regional Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming Handbook for the MRC Strategic Plan (November 17, 2021)

Phnom Penh: HE Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary-General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) led the Gender Working Group, which consists of (1) Mrs. Kaing Khim, Deputy Director of Fisheries Administration, Ministry Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, (2) Mr. Ou Sophana, Director of the Administration and Finance Department of the CNMC, (3) Mr. Sin Samnang, Director of Personnel and Human Resources Development Department, (4) Mrs. So Sokha, Advisor to the CNMC (5) Ms. Dom Thach, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and International Cooperation, Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (6) Mrs. Sar Sophira, Deputy Director of Inspection and Law Enforcement Department, Ministry of Environment  (7) Mrs. Kak Sokunthy, Deputy Chief of Office, Ministry of Women's Affairs, (8) Miss Seng Kola, Officer of Administration and Finance Department, CNMC attend the Regional Workshop on Gender Mainstreaming Handbook for the MRC Strategic Plan 2021-2025 organized by the MRC Secretariat via video conferencing from Vientiane, Lao PDR. The workshop was attended by gender working group from MRC member countries (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam). The workshop was conducted by:

- Reviewed and discussed the presentation of the handbook on gender mainstreaming

- Discussed some experiences, applied the handbook to gender mainstreaming in the Secretariat activities and

- Discussed the ongoing work in Member countries to organize their national workshops to promote and implement GM in key sectors to be selected by the National Gender Working Group.
