4th Steering Committee meeting for the Joint Project of Flood and Drought Management on the Cambodia-Thailand border (December 21, 2021)

Siem Reap: His Excellency Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), attended the 4th Steering Committee meeting for the Joint Project of Flood and Drought Management on the Cambodia-Thailand border Phase II, over presided by His Excellency Ponh Sachak, Secretary of State of Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology. The meeting organized by GIZ, attended official representative from Ministry of Public Works and Transport, National Committee for Disaster Management, Ministry of Rural Development, Cambodia National Mekong Committee, Working Group of Thailand National Mekong Committee, Icem Working Group and MRC Working Group.

The Meeting objectives are:

(1) To discuss and endorse the 9C-9T Flood and Drought Master Plan;

(2) To review the funding strategy and timeline for implementation of the Master Plan from 2022 on awards;

(3) To present and discuss the other outcomes and outputs of phase II of the joint project from 2020-2021. The 9C-9T Basin Atlas and Catalogue of Nature Based Solution, the Capacity Building Programme, the Phase II hydrological model , and the network of project concepts for flood and drought resilience;

(4) To present work plan and potential partner initiatives for the joint project for 2022.
