53rd MRC Jonit Committee Meeting (April 26, 2022)

Siem Reap: The 53rd MRC Jonit Committee Meeting was chaired by Excellency So Sophort, Secretary General of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee, MRC JC Member for Cambodia, Chairperson of MRC JC for 2022, and attended by a delegation of MRC JC members from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam, and MRC Secretariat officials, participants in hybrid Meeting with Cambodia and Lao PDR delegates as well as MRC Secretariat officials in person and Thailand and Vietnamese delegates via video conference.

Excellency Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary General of CNMC, Alternate Member of MRC JC  for Cambodia led a Cambodian delegation comprising of officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Excellency Advisor of CNMC, Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the Department of the CNMC Secretariat and MRC Secretariat delegate was led by Dr. Anoulak Kittikhoun, Chief Executive Officer.

The JC Meeting reviewed and approved the progress of MRC work including the implementation of the work plan of the first quarter 2022, focusing on the management of the organization, MRC Operation Manuals, performance and financial management , end of term and progress of recruitment plan for 2022, strengthening the efficiency of water use management and monitoring the situation Location, hydrological situation in the Mekong Basin in January-March 2022 and review of the Concept Note for the 4th MRC Summit and International Conference to be held in 2023 in Lao PDR.
