Phnom Penh: H.E. Mr. Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, led representatives of relevant line ministries and institutions and the CNMC General Secretariat to participate in the MRC Regional Consultation Meeting via Video Conference on MRC Flood and Drought Project Implementation Plan (PIP) 2021-2024. The Meeting was chaired and facilitated by the MRC Secretariat with the participation of member countries including Cambodia, Viet Nam, Lao PDR and Thailand and the Regional Flood and Drought Management Center team.

As a result, the Meeting reviewed and commented on the draft document of the MRC PIP 2021-2024 prepared by the regional team. In the planning formulation process, Cambodia takes note and yet to agree upon the proposed plan, and there is a strong need of National consultation to review the draft plan in detail and to see a clear roadmap to make sure that the Cambodia stand and ownership could be secured and implementation committed in line with the MRC’s approved Drought Management Strategy and Multi-Year Work Plan.
