Gathering Workshop for Flood and Drought Forecasters and Data Senders (November 16, 2021)

Phnom Penh: Mr. Chheang Hong, Director of Information and Knowledge Management Department, Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), led the Technical Working Group of Cambodia to attend the Gathering Workshop for Flood and Drought Forecasters and Data Senders via Video Conference. The Workshop was facilitated by the MRC Secretariat and Regional Flood and Drought Management Center team with participation of technical experts and professionals from member countries. There are 12 Cambodian representatives from MOWRAM including Department of Hydrology and River Works, Department of Meteorology and Department of Water Supply and Sanitation, and from Information and Knowledge Management Department of the CNMC General Secretariat.

The Workshop’s objectives are: (1) to meet and discuss between experts team from the Regional Flood and Drought Management Center and Technical Support Division of the MRC Secretariat and experts from member countries for sharing experiences, lessons learnt on flood and drought forecasting; (2) to discuss on road maps for improving river monitoring and forecasting technique; and (3) to strengthen cooperation and coordination between national and regional levels on forecasting works.
