Training Workshop On The Application Of Decision Support Systems (DSS), Discuss On Information Management Systems (IMS) (February 23-25, 2021)

Kampong Cham: HE Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and the Manager of the Component 2 of the Mekong Integrated Water Resource Management Project Phase 3 led the training workshop on the application of Decision Support Systems (DSS), discuss on Information Management Systems (IMS) and the Basin Planning Tool (BPT). The workshop was participated by officials from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, the General Secretariat of the CNMC, the DHI team and the Project Management Unit. The main objectives of the workshop were to 1) continue to study, understand, discuss and consult on the use of DSS; 2) discuss the IMS and the Basin planning tool by comparing the structure provided earlier; and 3) promote a better understanding of the use of DSS. Mr. So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, led a working group of the CNMC General Secretariat including His Excellences Deputy Secretary General, Advisor and Directors of Technical Departments via Video Conference in consultation with Dr. Kerstin Bark, Team Leader of the German GIZ Advisor, Falk Momber from the GIZ Headquarters as well as Dr. Bertrand Meinier and his GIZ team based at the MRC Secretariat and Regional Flood and Drought Management Center in Phnom Penh. The Meeting focused on concept note and lessons learned from the implementation of related projects funded by GIZ, Germany and the identification of priority activities that will continue to support by GIZ to the MRC member countries in the new MRC Strategic Plan 2021-2025. Phnom Penh: H.E Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Suos Bunthan, Director of Department of Planning and International Cooperation of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee, attended an inter-ministerial meeting organized by the Ministry of Planning. The meeting was chaired by HE Tuon Thavoreak, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Planning, and was attended by 105 officials from relevant ministries and institutions, including 17 women. The main objective is to review, discuss, revise the document of Target and indicators, their definitions and values calculation   for each year of the Sustainable Development Goals of Cambodia (CSDGs) 2016-2030 for the relevant sectors on which the revision can be based on effects of the spread of Kovid-19 virus. The meeting learned better about the participation of ministries and institutions in reviewing the proposal to remove and include inputs according to its indicators to be sent back to the Ministry of Planning by March...
