The 56th Meeting of the Mekong River Commission (MRC) Joint Committee in Vientiane, Lao PDR

(Vientiane): On September 27, 2023, Excellency  So Sophort, Secretary General of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and Member of the MRC Joint Committee for Cambodia, led a group of Cambodian Delegates from relevant ministries and institutions, participated in the 56th Meeting of the MRC Joint Committee in Vientiane, Lao PDR. The Meeting was attended by Delegates from the other MRC Member Countries (Laos, Thailand and Vietnam) and  key staff of the MRC Secretariat with an objective to review the Progress and to discuss to enhance the continued effectiveness of MRC management, operation and implementation in the area of Staffing, Finance, regional proactive planning, strengthening of cooperation and data and information sharing, river monitoring and piloting the Mekong Fund Trial....

Meeting on Socio-Economic (SE) and Gender and Vulnerability (G&V) Data and Analysis

Kampong Thom: On 25 Sep 2023, His Excellency Mr. Te Navuth, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) has leaded a national consultation meeting on Socio-Economic (SE) and Gender and Vulnerability (G& V) Data and Analysis at the Kampong Thom Palace Hotel. The meeting was joined by the representatives from MOWRAM, MAFF, MRD, MoE, MoWA NCDM TSA CNMC Officials; and National expert and staff of MRCS, a total of 22 people.  The Objectives of the meeting is to (1) Discuss, clarify and advise on the SE and GV data availability, data sources, data definition and data gaps that were collected by MCs with the QA/QC process  (2) Seek comments and agree on validation and consensus on the SE and GV data transmitted and used, the approach/methodology of data aggregation/analysis, results and key messages of the social and economic dimensions of the 1st and 2nd draft SOBR 2023 and draft updated Mekong Atlas maps and (3) Discuss the next steps an...

Enhancing knowledge on MRC operational policies and guidelines on Human Resource Management, Finance, Administration, Procurement and Internal Control

Key officials of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) General Secretariat who work for coordination on Mekong River Commission(MRC) work and activities were trained on the operational Policies and Guidelines relating to the Human Resource Management, Finance, Administration, Procurement and Internal Control of the MRC Secretariat at the Training Workshop that was organized on 21-22 September 2023 in Sihanoukville with the facilitation by Excellency So Sophort, Secretary General of CNMC. The resource persons at the Workshop were the key staff of the MRC Secretariat who are responsible for the relevant areas of work. The above Training Workshop was organized in response to the MRC Member Countries’ request to enhance the knowledge of relevant officials at the national level on the updated operational policies and guidelines to enhance the more professional, transparent and accountable work at the workplace....

Kampong Cham: On September 19, 2023, H.E Te Navuth, Permanent Vice-Chairman of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired the 2nd National Consultation Meeting on Drought Adaptation Guideline for the Lower Mekong Basin with participation of representatives of ministries, institutions and provincial departments. including Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, CNMC General Secretariat, specialists from the MRC Secretariat, a total of 23.
