9th Regional Meeting of the MRC Expert Group on Basin Planning to Complete the Concept Note and TOR for Proactive Regional Planning (January 11, 2022)

Phnom Penh: H.E Mr. Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), chaired the 9th Regional Meeting of the MRC Expert Group on Basin Planning via the video conference system to complete the concept Note and TOR for Proactive Regional Planning. The meeting was attended by representatives of MRC member countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam), MRCS officials, national and international experts, and was facilitated by the Mekong River Commission Secretariat. Separately, officials from Cambodia include from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, Ministry of Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Mines and Energy) and officials from the CNMC. Discussion Meeting on Impacts Caused by the Mekong River Low Flow on Mekong and Tonle Sap Riparian Communities (January 06, 2022)

Phnom Penh: His. Excellency Mr. Kol Vathana, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) have participated as Invited Speaker in the Discussion Meeting on “Impacts caused by the Mekong River low flow on Mekong and Tonle Sap riparian Communities and the appropriate measures for minimization and mitigating the Impacts”, which presided over by Mr. Sok Khim, Programme Manager of the Oxfam in Cambodia and facilitated by Dr. Tek Vannara, Executive Director of the NGO Forum on Cambodia. The total participants of the meeting is around 70 people from around 30 NGOs, 2 Academia, 6 local communities coming from the Mekong River System in Cambodia, Independent Research fellows, MRC Secretariat Representative, and Representatives of the Royal Government of Cambodia Institutions, including CNMC, TSA, and FiA of MAFF. 10th Meeting of the MRC Joint Platform (January 05, 2022)

Phnom Penh: Mekong River Commission Secretariat (MRCS) had organized the 10th Meeting of the MRC Joint Platform, which was presided over and leaded the discussion by Mr. Chumlarp Tejasen, Director of Foreign Affairs Division, Office of Natural Water Resources of Thailand and Co-chaired by Dr. An Pich Hatda, MRCS CEO. The Meeting were participated by the Inter-ministerial Working Group from the four member countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR., Thailand, and Viet Nam), relevant MRCS staffs and the International Consultant. The Inter-ministerial Working Group from Cambodia leaded by His.
