Technical Training Workshop on Using the Flood Forecasting Tools (June 29, 2021)  Kampong Cham: H.E So Sophot, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee, chaired the Technical Training Workshop on using the flood forecasting Tools and the Mekong River Commission's Flash Flood Guidance Operation with participation of technical officials from relevant line ministries and agencies concerned, provincial departments, experts group from the MRC Secretariat and the CNMC General Secretariat. As a result, the workshop (1) strengthened the capacity of technical officers from relevant ministries and institutions on how to use the technical tools and exchange of knowledge/skills on the Mekong flood forecasting and operation of flash flood guidance systems; and (2) found main challenges of acquiring and using adequate data with QA/QC and strengthened cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions/units on data and information sharing for the Mekong flooding notification and flash flood early warning. Phnom Penh: With the high permission of HE Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) HE Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary-General of CNMC participated in the Stakeholders Consultative Dialogue on the results of a study on the Lancang-Mekong Water Resources Sharing Platform, building Voice, Improving Best Practice at the Raffles Hotel Royal, Phnom Penh, co-organized by the Cambodia Institute for Cooperation and Peace (CICP) and Oxfam Cambodia online video conferencing.
