Regional Consultation Meeting on the MASAP Mainstreaming into MRC Drought Adaptation Guidance (October 19, 2021)

Phnom Penh: Mekong River Commission Secretariat (MRCS) had organized the Regional Consultation Meeting on the MASAP Mainstreaming into MRC Drought Adaptation Guidance, and Climate Fund Accreditation for MRC, which was presided over and leaded the discussion by Mr. Bounttien Sanaxonh, Director of Planning Division, MRCS and participated by the EGPDs from the four member countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR., Thailand, and Viet Nam), relevant MRCS staff, international expert on the climate change mainstreaming, international expert on climate fund accreditation, and GIZ development advisors. The EGPD from Cambodia leaded by His. Excellency Mr. Kol Vathana, Deputy Secretary General of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and jointed by the relevant staff from CNMCS, National expert on the climate change mainstreaming, and relevant staff from line agencies, including, MOWRAM, MAFF, MoE, TSA, and NCDM. Third Meeting of the National Council for the Sustainable Development (October 18, 2021)

Phnom Penh: Excellency Mr. So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee attended the Third Meeting of the National Council for the Sustainable Development via Video Conference which was presided over by Excellency Tin Ponlok, Second Chair of the National Council for the Sustainable Development and Secretary of State of Ministry of Environment, high representative of Excellency Mr. Say Sam Al, Chair of the National Council for the Sustainable Development and Minister of Environment in order to review and discuss: 1) Draft Sub-decree on Rules and Procedures for Participation in Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Mechanisms, 2) Draft Code of Conduct on Research and Agendas for Research, and 3) Update on Composition of Inter-ministerial Technical Working Groups....

Technical Meeting to Discuss the Progress and Outputs (October 18, 2021)

Phnom Penh: HE Watt Botkosal, Deputy Secretary General of the CNMC and Project Component 2 Manager led the component 2 team of the Mekong Integrated Water Resources Management Project Phase III (MIWRMP3) participate in a technical meeting hosted by the World Bank team to discuss the progress and outputs of component 1 and Component 2 of the MIWRMP3 via online. Mr. Chan Virak, Team leader of the Mekong Water Resources Management Project presided over the meeting, which included Sector Specialist and consultants of the WB office, Cambodia, and Component 1 Working Group led by Mr. Chheng Phen, Deputy Director General of Fisheries Administration. The group reviewed and discussed the issues for the 11th project implementation support mission, which is scheduled at the end of November 2021, as well as the preparations for the project's closing phase implementation, which is expected to be completed in mid-2022.
