Technical Meeting About the Implementation of A Pilot Project In Prek Thnot Catchment For 2021-2022 (June 14-15, 2021)

Phnom Penh: His Excellency So Sophort, Secretary General, Cambodian National Mekong Committee (CNMC) has chaired a technical meeting about the implementation of a Pilot Project in Prek Thnot Catchment for 2021 – 2022. This technical meeting was held with the participation from technical staffs from Department of Hydrology and River Work, Department of Meteorology, Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and Representatives from MRCS and CNMC. The purpose of the meeting are (1) to implement the pilot project focusing on the application of hydrological model and to define the study site and (2) to implement the work plan. Finalizing The Site Selection and To Address Requirements of Stakeholders

From 8 to 13 June 2021, H.E Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC), led and facilitated the visit of Working Group of Integrated Water Resources Management Project, the DHI Working Group in Cambodia and representatives of construction companies with a total of 10; to Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanak Kiri and Mondulkiri provinces with an aim at finalizing the site selection and to address requirements of stakeholders. As a result, the Working Groups: (1) consulted with the local authorities, the provincial departments (PDOWRAM) of the target provinces and stakeholders, and visited to the potential areas to identify 28 sites for the upcoming construction of hydrological stations and meteorological stations and (2) agreed in principle upon the sites from all parties that visited and be ready to continuously cooperate with local authorities, the provincial Departments and most relevant stakeholders in the said four provinces; and (3) answe...
