Regional Consultation Meeting on Sustainable Groundwater Use Management in Agriculture (March 29, 2022)

Phnom Penh: H.E Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of CNMC, led a Cambodian working group from the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Mines and Energy, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Environment, Tonle Sap Authority and the Officials from CNMCS, attended the Regional Consultation Meeting on Sustainable Groundwater Use Management in Agriculture for phase 3 through VDO conference.   There are MRC member countries (Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and Vietnam) and officials from MRCS participated in this meeting. The objective of the meeting is: (1) Present and discuss the final draft of TORs of International and National consultants, the draft work plan and draft outlines for the Transboundary Aquifer Reports and regional report for the SGUMA – Phase 3, and (2) discuss the irrigation technique/technology to be selected for developing and drafting the structure of the manuals....

Phnom Penh: H.E Mr. Long Saravuth, Deputy Secretary General of CNMC, chaired the 6th National Working Group Meeting on Flood and Drought Management in the Cambodia-Thailand border area through VDO conference with the participation of officials from relevant Ministries and institutions, MOWRAM, MAFF, MOP, MME, MRD, TSA, MPWT, NCDM, PDOWRAM (Banteay Meanchey, Battambang and Pailin), Officials from ICEM, GIZ, MRCS, national experts, international experts and Officials from CNMC. The objective of the meeting and training is to (1) discuss on main outcome from phase II (2020-2021) and brief on phase III of the project (2) discuss on 9C-9T funding strategy (3) present on framework of the joint action plan for the Master Plan implementation and (4) discuss on work plan and next step for 2022....

Delivery of Four Survey Boats under the MIWRMP 3 Project's to Support the Hydrological Management Activities (March 25, 2022)

Phnom Penh: His Excellency Te Navuth, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Cambodia National Mekong Committee and Director of the Mekong IWRMP Phase III, on behalf of His Excellency Lim Kean Hor, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology and Chairman of the CNMC , chaired the delivery of four survey boats under the MIWRM P3 project's to support the hydrological management activities to the Department of Water Resources and Meteorology  (PDOWRAM) of Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakkiri and Mondulkiri provinces. On this occasion, H.E Te Navuth emphasized that the achievements of the project were achieved due to the support and encouragement of the leadership of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology and the CNMC for officials to implement the project better effective and more successful. National Training Workshop on Data Collection, Discharge & Sediment Measurement and Operation and Maintenance of HYCOS (March 24-25, 2022)

Kampong Cham: H.E So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC); chaired a National Training Workshop on Data Collection, Discharge & Sediment Measurement and Operation and Maintenance of HYCOS Stations along the Mekong River and its main tributaries, with participation of technical staff from Department of Hydrology and River Works, Provincial Department of Water Resources and Meteorology, stations’ observers, expert of the MRCS and the CNMC General Secretariat. The Workshop’s objectives are 1. to provide knowledge and strengthen the capacity to observers and DHRW staff to understand the hydrological work on operation and management of the stations 2. to share the experiences and lesson learned from the observers and DHRW staffs; 3. to refresh the Standard Operation Procedure on Operation & Maintenance of the stations; and 4. to promote understanding of the method of measuring the water level, discharge and rating curve....
