Phnom Penh: Mekong ​River ​Commission ​Secretariat (MRCS) ​had ​organized the ​Special Session of the MRC Joint Committee (JCSS) to discuss next steps of the Prior Consultation Process for the Proposed Sanakham Hydropower Project (SNHPP PC Process), presided over and leaded the discussion by His Excellency Mr. So Sophort, Secretary General of CNMC, Member of MRC-JC for Cambodia, and Chairperson of the MRC Joint Committee (MRC-JC) for 2022 and participated by the Delegation headed by MRC-JC from the four MRC Member Countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR., Thailand, and Viet Nam), the MRCS CEO, and the key relevant Specialists from MRC Secretariat. Inter-Ministerial Meeting at the Political Level to Review and Approve the Draft Mid-Term Report 2021 (March 17, 2022)

Phnom Penh: H.E Mr. Te Navuth, ​Permanent ​Vice-Chairman of ​Cambodia ​National ​Mekong Committee and Mr. Suos Bunthan, Director of Planning and International Cooperation Department, attended an inter-ministerial meeting at the political level to review and approve the Draft Mid-Term Report 2021 on the Implementation of the National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) 2019-2023. The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Hou Taing Eng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Planning, High Representative, His Excellency Kittisetha, Dr. Chhay Thorn, Senior Minister, Minister of Planning, and attended by relevant Ministries and institutions. The meeting requested all relevant ministries and institutions to review the content of their final revisions before the Ministry of Planning submits this mid-term report to the Economic and Financial Policy Committee for review and decision, and then submits it to the Council of Ministers to approve. Special Session on Korea-Mekong Cooperation in the Water Sector and the Way Forward (March 15, 2022)

Excellency So Sophort, Secretary General of Cambodia National Mekong Committee (CNMC) and Member of the Mekong River Commission Joint Committee (MRC-JC) for Cambodia joined with other Members of the MRC-JC from Lao PDR, Thailand and Vietnam, the Special Session on Korea-Mekong Cooperation in the Water Sector and the Way Forward via Video Conference that was organized as side event of the 2nd Asia International Water Week, 14-16 March 2022 in Labuan Bajo, Indonesia. MRC-JC Members of the Member Countries were invited to deliver their remarks at the said Session. Kampong Cham: H.E Mr. So Sophort, Secretary ​General of ​Cambodia National ​Mekong ​Committee (CNMC), chaired a National Consultative Meeting  on National Forecasting Center Needs Assessment Findings and Plan for implementation with participation of representatives from relevant ministries and institutions, including Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology, Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Ministry of Public Works and Transport, National Committee for Disaster Management, Tonle Sap Authority, MRC Secretariat and the CNMC General Secretariat.
